私奔，一個(gè)常在狗血電視劇里出現(xiàn)的橋段，用英語應(yīng)該怎么說呢？

我們可以直接使用elope這個(gè)詞來表示“私奔”，elope有兩個(gè)意思：

1. to run away secretly with the intention of getting married usually without parental consent（一般未經(jīng)父母同意，為了結(jié)婚而偷偷地逃跑）

2. to run away from one's spouse with a lover（與情人一起私奔，逃離原配）

例：She attempted to elope, but didn't get far and was sent home.

她試過私奔，但沒跑多遠(yuǎn)就被送回家了。

不過，現(xiàn)在私奔有了新的含義，也可用于指舉辦小型私密的婚禮。

例：If you opt to elope instead and invite only a few dear friends and family, you could end up saving yourself tens of thousands of dollars.
