Tiangong 1 is a Chinese space laboratory, intended as a test-bed to develop the rendezvous and docking capabilities needed to support a larger, inhabited space station complex. The launch of Tiangong 1, aboard a Long March 2F rocket, is planned for late September 2011.
天宮一號是中國空間實驗站，作為一個試驗臺，它將發(fā)展交會對接技術(shù)，用以支持更大更復(fù)雜的居住空間站。預(yù)計搭乘長征2F火箭的天宮一號將于9月底發(fā)射。

文中的“Tiangong 1”就是“天宮一號”的意思，它的另外一種說法是“Heavenly Palace 1”。文中的“space laboratory”是指“空間試驗站”。“天宮一號”是一個重8.5噸的“空間實驗?zāi)K”（space laboratory module），能夠與載人航天器（manned spacecraft）和無人航天器（unmanned spacecraft）進(jìn)行對接（docking）。這標(biāo)志著我國將完成第一次軌道對接（orbital docking）。
